Ecological Land-use Planning and Ecosystem Conservation

Vision:

An interdisciplinary group that carries out and coordinates high quality research on the formulation and review of public policies concerned with sustainable natural resource management, which contribute to improving society’s quality of life.

Mission:

Generation, systematization and dissemination of scientific and technical information that supports decision-making and strengthens capacities in sustainable natural resource management.

Strategic Objective:

Active and effective participation in all decision-making processes carried out by SEMARNAT that are related to sustainable natural resource management, providing scientific and technical information and training.
Goals:

  • Formulate methodologies and scientific and technical guidelines to support ecological land planning, ecosystem conservation and integrated watershed management.
  • Disseminate the results of research projects on ecological land planning, ecosystem conservation and integrated watershed management.
  • Offer users a platform for consulting and analyzing data on ecological land planning, ecosystem conservation and integrated watershed management.
  • Train scientists and technical staff in ecological land planning, ecosystem conservation and integrated watershed management.
  • Establish collaborative agreements with research institutions in order to carry out studies and research on ecological land planning, ecosystem conservation and integrated watershed management.
