Institutional Database of the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory

Introduction

Pursuant to articles 4 and 12 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Parties will prepare their National Greenhouse Gas Inventories and will report the UNFCCC Secretariat about them. The inventory data are also provided in the National Communications of the Parties to the Convention.

In this website, summary tables of the online database of the estimated emissions, mainly concerning CO2, CH4, and N2O, may be consulted. Such data are available for 1994-1998. Emissions are presented according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines for the preparation of greenhouse gas emissions inventories (1996).

Available Data

The Emissions Inventory is continuously revised, thus figures may vary, depending on comments received by the different sectors, all this aiming at improving the quality of data presented in it.
