Study on Greenhouse Gas Emission Coefficients from Living Organisms in Central Mexico and a Related System for Information Management

The project "Study on Greenhouse Gas Emission Coefficients from Living Organisms in Central Mexico and a Related System for Information Management” will contribute to the making of the forthcoming versions of the National Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory. The project focused on the production of specific data on Mexico, and provided information on several significant greenhouse gas emission sources by developing emission factors for livestock emitted-methane, biogenic non-methane hydrocarbons, and nitrous oxide from agricultural soils. In addition, the case study on Central Mexico was used to develop an information system for decision-making on the subject of climate change which facilitates the processing and incorporation of related information.

The products of the Project will not only improve overall quality of the National Inventory, but will also be relevant for producing inventories in other developing countries with similar environmental conditions.
